“The intricacy of ShyBoy’s lyricism is fascinating.”
“Makes a bold impression on today’s indie-pop landscape.”
“ShyBoy’s soulful vocals are irresistible.”
ShyBoy has built a circuit of mashup-driven DJ/dance party residencies that have become destinations in their own right. MaDonna Summer, Rihyoncé, Gaga Lipa, Mariah Grande, Britney xcx: each night is a celebration of pop royalty and queer joy, blending decades of diva worship into something sweaty, communal, and unapologetically fun. His monthly residencies at Precinct DTLA and Beaux SF anchor a growing nightlife footprint. Named Best Solo Artist in LA Weekly's Best of L.A. Awards, he brings a producer's ear and a performer's instinct to every set.
That instinct was shaped across a career that doesn't stay in one lane. ShyBoy's latest single "Walk Don't Run" is noir-disco cool threaded with cinematic unease, featured in Dust Bunny (Lionsgate / Roadside Attractions), recently honored as a New York Times Critic's Pick. Veteran music journalist Larry Flick called it "less a pop song and more an experience." His solo album His Royal Shyness (King Size Edition), out via Stockholm-based Snafu Records, leans into lush cinematic pop built on tension, desire, and sharp emotional turns, closing with a stripped-down take on Lana Del Rey's "Norman f**king Rockwell" that somehow makes the original feel louder by getting quieter.
He's also the lead singer and co-founder of Hypnogaja, whose 2026 album My Dreams Have Teeth landed like unfinished business finally settled: thirteen tracks moving between gothic weight and melodic precision, with "Things That Go Bump in the Night" hitting Apple Music editorial playlists.
ShyBoy's credits stretch from RuPaul's Drag Race to Capcom's Devil May Cry 4, from a creative partnership with Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee Allee Willis to remix work for Donna Summer. He's a partner in the indie label The Spaceman Agency and a producer, songwriter, and vocalist who happens to know exactly what a room needs at any given moment.
None of it sounds like it should fit together. All of it does.
